The government’s latest announcement of £3 billion towards home energy saving measures should be taken tongue in cheek. They are apparently offering assistance towards insulation & double glazing measures…..well insulation has been done to death under ECO since 2012, are there really any lofts left to do? Double glazing, well criteria will probably be such that assistance will be minimal.
Needless to say, the cost saver most beneficial for home owners etc has been omitted. Boilers usually work on a renewal basis every ten to twelve years, as opposed to 25+ for glazing & insulation. The question to ask your MP is: Do the government really have any intention of using this funding, or are we yet again being subjected to a financial smokescreen?
