Combi Boilers

Combi boilers are without doubt, the most popular choice of boiler right now. They are unquestionably the most affordable and energy efficient in terms of use.

They work by heating water straight from the cold water main as soon as a hot tap is opened. For the reason that they don’t need a hot water cylinder or cold water storage tanks, they save significantly on room.

The boiler units on their own are now very sleek, and when integrated with the present day flue techniques can quickly be situated just about anywhere in your property.

The heating works on a two pipe system, which is normally found in most domestic properties, & is subsequently very easy to either install from new, or join into existing systems.

Combi boilers are excellent for smaller homes, flats, bungalows etc where room is at a premium. They are certainly a terrific option where there is no attic space for water tanks and are also wonderful if a loft conversion is imminent. The bonus is no pipes freezing in the attic either.

Living space is increased, as is closet space because no hot water storage area being required. No pumps are required for showers, as when they run from a combi boiler the water delivery is very good.

A result of there being less pipework required, they are normally less expensive to put in.

Heat Only Boilers

Heat only boilers have been in use for generations, and are very likely the choice that’s been used the most for many years.

They are commonly wall mounted, but once were found behind a gas fire, a back boiler if you please.

This standard boiler needs a hot water storing cylinder or similar, together with cold water storage containers to feed all the heating and hot water needs of the property.

Although this kind of system occupies room, it is most suitable for properties of a larger size, specifically those with more than one bath room as it enables several hot water draw off points at the same time.

Although not as energy-efficient as a combi derived system, with today’s modern technology they are certainly still economical to run. The disadvantage is the installation costs are greater as a result of extra tanks & pipework required.

System Boilers

System boilers are pressurised, very similar to a combi boiler. Regardless of the fact that by design, the main heating system and hot water components are built into the boiler, the system still needs hot water to be saved. This is accomplished employing a pressurised or mains water fed cylinder or storage vessel, usually made from copper or steel. They do not need cold water storage containers, which means no pipes in the loft space for the most part.

This method allows for a constant supply of hot water to multiple taps concurrently. Excellent for homes with more than one bath room or for using two showers at the same time, provided of course there is a really good mains pressure on hand.

System boilers are also compatible with solar powered water systems, terrific news for delivering environmentally friendly rewards along with saving cash on your energy bill.

With all the things being pressurised, similar to a combi, the set up costs are reduced, due to there being no requirement for storage containers and the linked pipe and fittings etc

A huge amount of this is down to environmental and performance targets. Although that’s terrific for the planet and those who demand value for money, it’s certainly not so good for those who will need to buy them.

We don’t all come with deep pockets, we understand not everybody can stretch to the very top of the range models, and for that reason we do put in lower end boilers that include a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty. Being truthful, that’s the least you should go with.

Our people have sourced a Main Eco boiler (Baxi in a different label), & a Vokera that are fantastic boilers, do the business, five year as standard, and for a really good price delivered and fitted that could suit everybody …
